The Sound House Dublin has become a familiar venue for hosting Secret Sessions events, and I had the privilege of attending the last Secret Sessions of the year on Thursday, November 30th.
The overaching goal of Secret Sessions aims to provide a unique platform for local Irish artists, allowing them to showcase their talent to new audiences and broaden their fan base. The surprise element, where performers are unveiled for the first time on stage, sets these events apart and caught my attention, offering a departure from the usual predictability of ticketed shows.

Initiated with three primary objectives, Secret Sessions strives to contribute to charitable causes through collaboration with the Musical Youth Foundation, provide opportunities for emerging artists, and curate an unparelleled live music expereince for enthusiasts eager to explore new sounds in Ireland's rich musical landscape.

The evening began Becky McNeice singer songwriter and producer from Belfast, representing the new wave in Norethern Ireland. Her fusion of alternative pop with mainstream appeal, characterised by melancholic and shimmering lyricism, positions her as one of Ireland's most captivating talents. Becky's ability to turn bsic phrases into moments of deep introspection, combined with her sincere presentation, creates an intimately authentic artist expression.

Following Becky was F3mii, a Dublin-based producer and vocalist known for his melodic voice and vibrant chords. His journey in music began in a gospel choir, and he passionately entered the solo scene with the release of Beautiful on SoundCloud.

F3mii draws inspiration from love and heartbreak, creating music that resonates with people and leading to collaborations with notable artists. His thrilling live performances, including the energetic hit single In My Head, make him an artist worth watching.
Closing the night was Curtisy, a well-known name among rap enthusiasts in Dublin. Starting on SoundCloud during the 2020 lockdown, Curtisy quickly built a dedicated fanbase with his vibrant and lush abstract hip-hop. Influenced by artists like Wiki and Earl Sweatshirt, Curtisy's live performances exude a DIY punk charisma and energy that captures the crowd's attention. Collaborating consistently with Irish producers and artists, he gained strong support from hip-hop figure Kojaque.

In 2022, Curtisy took the stage at various notable events, including Artists Against Homelessness at the Olympia Theatre in support of Focus Ireland, Otherside Festival, Electric Picnic, and a London debut. His live energetic performances mark him as an artist to watch as we enter 2024, concluding the night on a high note.

In essence, Secret Sessions at The Sound House Dublin successfully showcased the diverse and vibrant talents of Becky McNeice, F3mii, and Curtisy, leaving a lasting impression on attendees and reinforcing the venue's reputation as a hub reputation for discovering Ireland's emerging musical gems.
