Cork Singer Songwriter, Cian Ducrot shoots for Victory with his debut Album
One of Ireland's fastest rising singer songwriters, Cian Ducrot is set to release his Debut Album, Victory, on August 4th, on the back of his Debut single, I'll be waiting, soaring into the Top 20 of the Official Singles Charts in 2022 setting his rise to fame in motion. The album pays a heartwarming tribute to his family and friends who have helped him survived his childhood trauma.
Cian's unmatched song writing ability of the utmost honesty and authenticity is demonstrated throughout Victory. His Debut Album is a representation of the ultimate Victory of making it out the other side of his trauma and striving to achieve his goals. For Cian the idea behind the album was by telling his story it will hopefully give hope to people going through the same battle.
Cian's viral TikTok hit, All for You, released as both a single track and a beautiful duet with Ella Henderson, tells the story of heartbreak, with his lyrics alluding to the regrets experienced following the break down of a relationship and seeing them happy with someone else. The chorus expresses the things that should have been done in the relationship but realising now that it's too late to act on them, ending with the hopes that her new boyfriend does all the things he should've done to make her happy.
I'll be Waiting, released in 2022, shares the frustration of holding out hope that your loved one can change, and the struggle to move on whilst trying to come to terms with the abandonment, with or without closure. "You were down now you're giving up / Just a false start if you're quitting on us / Another year, just another lie / Wish you'd call so I could say goodbye."
Paying a poignant tribute to his late best friend Phily in Part of Me, Cian reminisces on his unforgettable memories of their time together. Taking to Instagram following it's release, Cian expresses how, even though it was one of the toughest songs to write it is definitely the most important one.
With an utterly beautiful flash mob performance, where he suddenly bursts into song, Cian continues to honour his late friend, leaving onlookers gobsmacked as he is joined by a choir who are waiting nearby and a talented 30-piece orchestra.
In a song dedicated to his brother, their love and everything they've been through, Heaven describes the story of their journey through life together. Even though it's written as a thank you to him, there is also a devastating undertone throughout the song, with Ducrot alluding to how his brother "never smiled...because you carried that pain more than any child should".
Starting in a melancholy tone, Everyone Who Falls In Love is spun on its axis with its striking first line; She still thinks of him when she touches my skin. Reflecting on the messiness of romance and relationships as you get older, with both parties carrying the passage of the past, his lyrics allude to the fact that Everyone who falls in love has someone else they’re thinking of.
Cian is one of the most talented singer songwriter's of the modern music world, with flawlessly honest lyrics and unbeatable rhythms Cian continues to thrive in the pop music industry. Cian's Debut Album has been much anticipated over the past while and boy did he deliver the goods!
"This album represents that victory, the victory of self-belief, the victory of everyone around me who I love and who loved me back, the story of my brother, of my mother, of my grandparents, of my friends, and everyone who fought by our side every step of the way.
'This album is for all those people and my amazing fans, we made it out alive and more. This is for us. This is Victory"- Cian
