We're thrilled to welcome back Alex Kolo to the blog- this time, she's brought along the incredible Jeremy Lister for a heart-hitting new single, Fall So Fast, arriving everywhere on May 16. This is Alex's second time being featured here, and it's exciting to see her growth as both a writer and artist since we last spoke.
Fall So Fast is a track that feels like a quiet storm- emotional, intense, and honest without trying too hard. It's a song for anyone who's ever felt the sting of something beautiful slipping away before it eevn had the chance to begin. Alex and Jeremy sat down with us to talk more about the inspiration behind the song and the journey of creating it together.

“Fall So Fast” is such an emotionally rich track—can you walk us through the moment or experience that first sparked the idea for this song?
The idea came from a fleeting connection that left a surprisingly deep emotional impact. It was one of those moments where something sparks between two people, but it ends before it can truly begin. The chorus came together in the middle of those emotions—sitting with the ache of what never had a chance to fully unfold.
Alex, you mentioned this song came from a deeply personal place—what was it like translating that raw emotion into lyrics?
It was both cathartic and challenging. Putting words to feelings that were still fresh helped bring clarity and a sense of release. Writing it became a way to process everything, and having the right collaborator made it easier to be honest and vulnerable in the music.
The song touches on the idea of love that ends before it truly begins—why do you think that theme resonates with so many listeners?
Because it’s an experience so many people have had, whether they talk about it or not. There’s something heartbreaking about falling fast and being left with unanswered questions. The “what ifs” can linger just as strongly as any long-term relationship, and that kind of quiet grief is something people really connect with.
Were there any specific artists or songs that influenced the sound or storytelling style of “Fall So Fast”?
Surprisingly, no. This one came from a very organic place. It wasn’t about modeling it after anyone else—it was about following the emotion and letting the song evolve naturally.
What was the most challenging part of creating this song, either musically or emotionally?
Emotionally, it was the act of staying present in such a vulnerable space long enough to get the lyrics right. Musically, the challenge was creating a soundscape that felt raw and intimate but still full and lush. Balancing those two energies took care and intention.

Can you share a behind-the-scenes moment during the recording process that stands out to you both?
There was a point during vocal tracking when everything just hit all at once. After one of the takes, we paused the session and sat in silence for a while. It was one of those rare moments where the emotion in the room was heavier than expected—and that’s how we knew the song was really doing its job.
Now that the release is near, how do you hope listeners will feel after hearing “Fall So Fast”?
Hopefully, they feel seen. It’s a song for anyone who’s ever loved quickly and lost just as quickly. There’s comfort in knowing that kind of love, even if brief, is still real and worth feeling. If the song can help someone make peace with that kind of experience, then it’s done its job.
Looking ahead, can fans expect more collaborations between you two or similar emotionally driven projects?
That’s really up to the fans! If this release resonates and people want more, there’s definitely interest in continuing to create together. It’s exciting to think of where that could lead.
